Today we said goodbye to Québec and set course for Mont-Tremblant. But first, there was one experience we'd been looking forward to for months: Cirque du Soleil's ECHO.
Getting the tickets almost felt like a bigger challenge than getting to the show itself. Month after month, I checked the schedule and found nothing. Then, out of nowhere, ECHO appeared in May. Tickets booked. Gifted to An. The countdown officially began.
Outfitchanges in Montréal
Today was finally the day.
With the show starting at 1 PM in Montréal, everything had to go according to plan. No room for delays.
And, for the most part, it did.
We left Québec early, found an amazing bakery along the way, and somehow navigated Montréal's maze of roadworks and detours without too much stress. Then came an unexpected fashion show during our pre-show picnic. First, the long pants had to go because of the heat. Shortly after, the shorts met an unfortunate encounter with a dirty picnic bench and had to be replaced as well.
Two outfit changes in less than thirty minutes.
Travel happens. 😅
Echo, no words!
Finally, it was time to step under the iconic Big Top.
And honestly? Words don't do it justice.
For two unforgettable hours, we were completely mesmerized. One jaw-dropping act followed another, each somehow more spectacular than the last. Acrobats launched themselves through the air as if gravity simply didn't apply to them, powerful live vocals sent chills down our spines, and stunning visuals blended seamlessly with flawless choreography. Every scene left us wondering how they could possibly top the previous one. More than once, we turned to each other with the exact same look on our faces:
"How on earth do they do that?"
What an incredible experience.
The day ended much more simply than it began, with a plate of macaroni in our Airbnb in Mont-Tremblant. But after a performance like that, even a simple bowl of pasta tastes like fine dining. 🍝✨
Our journey doesn’t end here. ❤️
